Hello. I am 32, very thin (125 lbs at 5′8”) and very athletic (play a lot of sports). I wear a heart rate monitor (Polar) when working out and sometimes leave it on when I am home. I notice that sometimes my heart rate will be in the normal range (60 to 85 bps) when I am sitting and watching Tv or reading and then it jumps to about 215 or 233 it stays there for less then a minute. This happens about twice a day (at different times). Should I be worried? Do I need to see a doctor? Does anyone knowwhat might be happening? Thanks in advance for your help.
Since the summer has almost arrived i plan on swimming everyday. I know that there are watches out there that monitor calories burned and your heart rate while you are exercising but is there any inexpensive watch that is good for swimmers? The watches that i have found require you wear a chest strap so i didn’t know if there was an alternative route out there. Please help!
I am a very committed swimmer and am really getting serious about my workouts. I need a STRAPLESS HRM watch that i can use in the pool to check how hard i’m working. I’ve looked at some products but i’m not sure what to get or if the product will be worth what it is. I’ve seen some brands such as Mio or Polar. Any help?

I use a Polar F11. For the last year my maximum heart rate recorded during exercise has been in the range 165-170. At 52yo my predicted max is 168. I have just replaced my battery (in the watch, not me!) and have recorded heart rates of 189, ,201,195 and 206 over my last 4 sessions.
I have a Sports instruments Pro 7 watch that came with a dead battery. I would love to use it soon, but my local jeweler said it would take about a week to send it out to have it replaced. Does anyone have a watch like this that they have replaced the battery themselves in? What type of battery does it take, and how would I do it? Any advice with this would be helpful! Thanks~!
I’ve been looking for a while and can’t seem to find this. If you can help me out you’d be a life saver. I’m looking for a stylish heart rate monitor watch (for men or unisex) where you don’t need to wear a chest strap. I’d like it to show my constant heart rate without having to push any buttons. A lot of the strapless heart rate watches I’ve seen you have to push two buttons to get a reading and that would not be too fun. I’d also like it to work without having to rub on any kind of conductive gel. Thanks for any help!
animated electrocardiogram (heart rate monitor) i made with adobe after effects 6.5. For those of you who have noticed that this doesn’t show the exact line for the sound, its because this was made for a student production.
I’m trying to burn fat and get into better shape. I’m a 27-year-old male, weigh approximately 183 lbs, and am 6′2". When I get on a treadmill or stair master and watch the heart rate monitor, what’s a good number for it to be at? And what’s dangerously high?
I’m looking for a watch to fit all of my hiking/exploring needs. I know there are watches out there fore +0 that have EVERYTHING. However, HR, thermometer, and compass are really the only three functions I am ever going to need. Is there a watch in the -0 range that can accomplish all of this?

Is the Polar F55BR any good? What kind of features are must have/nice to have? I don’t need to pay 0, but will if it is worth it. I am not an athlete, but just a regular guy that wants to monitor heart rate, calories burned, etc. There may be features out there I don’t know about that I would like or want. Any help is appreciated!
