I need to buy a heart rate monitor that calculates my Heart Rate, my %, and Calories burned. Which one is the best for a reasonable price.
Please list some brands and where I can buy them; online or store.
Thank you!

I bought one of those heart rate monitors with a watch and I like it but after a 45 minute spinning class and 30 minutes walking back home the calories burned said 950. I think that’s way too much and not accurate. Am I wrong? What are other people’s experiences? I’m 5′6 and 70 kilos/155 lbs Thanks!

I’m looking for an affordable heart rate monitor that I can buy in store. The ones on the machines don’t work very well because they only give me readings every now and then during my workout so it’s not a constant reading. Also I feel like the readings they give me are not accurate sometimes. Thank you!

I bought a heart monitor for cardiorespiratory exercise, since it’s supposed to make you healthier. I bought two heart rate monitors under 0, just to see which one seemed to work better and I’ll return the other one. Often, they seem to be quite off on their readings of beats per minute. Is that quite common among exercise heart rate monitors, especially under 0? Is there a way to find out which one’s more accurate? Also, one seems to be more sensitive and goes up and down (bpm) much faster, while seeming to be more likely to be erratic, while the other one almost needs more threshold for it to move up and down. Which one would be a better exercise heart rate monitor?

I just started walking and I would like to get a heart rate monitor. I am so confused I don’t know which one to buy. There are so many out there. I just need it to check my pulse rate, and it should also let me know if I am above or below my target rate. It should be clear, easy to use and the transmitter should be comfortable.
I would greatly appreciate if anyone can help me out here. Thanks

I never really know how hard i’m working out when I’m jogging. I jog-walk-jog-walk and don’t know if im really pushing myself.
is a heart rate monitor worth the investment?
do you think it will provide a bit of additional motivation?

I’m 19 and I weighh about 160 lbs. Im trying to achieve a certain target zone that would be most effective for calorie and fat burning in general. I checked on line and my max. heart rate is 201. What target heart rate should i aim for (i.e, what percentage of my max heart rate)? And should I buy a heart rate monitor cuz i find it difficult to measure it by just checking my pulse?

I would like to buy a heart rate monitor watch for my daughter. It needs to display the heart rate and the stopwatch readout at the SAME time (2 lines) so that she can look at her time while she is running. I would like one that is not too large. I bought her one, but I got it on Ebay, and when it arrived it turned out to be quite large. I’d like to spend less than 0.
If you would like to give advice on units to avoid, that would be welcome also.
I did almost bid on the Polar S120, but I think it might be pretty big.
Thanks for your help.
